Misc March Pics

What can I say, we are "outdoors people"!!!! Any chance we get, we are outside playing and finding adventure! It's pretty easy at this stage because the boys are happy whatever we are out doing. Getting some fresh air, some vitamin D, and burning off some energy! Here's some of our recent outings!

We went to Temple Park Beach -- the boys LOVED playing in the water for several hours (even though it was a little chilly to me!)! The sun was pretty warm that day and we all ended up getting a little sunburned -- OOPS, I guess I need to start packing the sunscreen already!

St Patrick's Day 5K

This past Saturday, we had fun participating in the 5th Annual St. Patrick's Day 5K and Kid 1K race! We had a busy weekend with family visiting (my parents, brother and sister-in-law), and so we got out to get some exercise too! I was able to run the 5K (finished in 26:19, which was 8th for my age group!), while my parents pushed the boys in the stroller -- although Luke decided to run/walk most of the 5K!
And then there was a Kid's 1K race that Luke and Daniel did -- Luke did great and finished the whole race run/walking.... Daniel was able to run/walk ~1/2 of it and needed some help to finish!
Afterwards there were horse rides, bounce houses, and food!!! It was lots of fun, and benefited the S&W Children's Hospital!!!

Little Man on the Move

My little Seth is a busy boy -- he is pretty much always going! He crawls, he pulls to stand, he cruises, he pushes his toys, and he even climbs (ALREADY!)
I just want to know -- "Where did my little BABY go already?!?!!?"

Climbing onto the couch -- Luke decided that Seth wanted to be up there, so he helped him climb up -- Um, we had to have a little talk about how baby brother CANNOT be up on the couch by himself yet!!!!!! He sure was happy about it though!

Fishin' Boys

The weather has been prefect for some fishin' and some Daddy time with the 2 big boys! Luke has enjoyed going out with Robert for most of the day (like one day they were out from ~8:30am until ~7pm!!!! What a little trooper, hanging out that long, fishing!!!) Daniel likes to go out for a little while, but then says "you come pick me up, Mommy" which is usually around lunch/nap time.
Luke really enjoys it and is quite the little fisherman! He has his own pole, and uses a lure without a bobber (I am told this is harder and a more advanced skill) when they are fishing for Sand Bass, and he LOVES to reel in the fish once Robert hooks them!
Daniel is still getting the hang of it all, and likes to explore EVERYTHING on the boat, throw things into the water, ask lots of questions, etc. But his favorite things is to "pet" the fish once they are caught! He thinks they are so cool to touch and hold, and yes, even kiss!!!!! We went straight to the bath after taking these pictures the other night!

Kitchen Update

So for over a year now, I have been saying I wanted to paint the kitchen -- it just had the off-white eggshell paint that the builders used -- the kind that scrapes away/rubs off when you have to clean splattered food off of it (not that I do that EVERY DAY or anything!)

Anyways, I guess I've been a little busy the past year or so! Ha! Well, with this beautiful weather lately, I could open all the windows, and I finally got around to painting!!!! The color is called "warm cocoon", I was going for a melted butter-type color... I am really liking how it has brightened up the kitchen and looks very "spring-ish"! Here's some pics.

Luke's Newest Skill

Luke has recently learned a new trick/skill -- he can ride his bike without training wheels -- ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!
He is loving it, and asks to "practice some more" every day now! What a big boy he is! So proud of our little almost-4-year-old!!!!

PS -- He DOES wear a helmet now whenever he rides, the first couple of times he started riding, either Robert or I were right beside him helping him out and the early pics were from then... now that he is doing it all on his own, he wears his helmet every time!!! And only rides in the street when we are very close-by and watching for cars!!!

Sick in Feb

Well, February is now gone, and partly it seemed to go by fast, but partly it seemed to drag on and on!!! Around mid-February, Luke and Daniel had a little bug that they then shared with Seth and Robert.
Poor Seth had the worst of it -- fever, snot, congestion, crankiness, wheezing, trouble sleeping (at least if he was not being held!), etc. The doctor said it was probably RSV or a virus similar to it (they don't routinely test for it because they don't treat it any differently, it just has to run it's course). Plus, poor guy has a right ear infection on top of it. So he had to take a 10 day course of amoxicillin -- NO FUN!!! -- which then gave him horrible diarrhea, a bad diaper rash, and thrush!

Somehow, I managed NOT to get the sickness this time (thank you, Lord, for Mommy immunity!!!!), and thankfully, we are all on the mend and doing so much better now.

We are ready to face March and lots of sunshine and outside play time!!!!!
